[Fanfic Competition Ad] SMASH! Wants Your Fanfics! (with mod permission) [Monday 13.7.09 @ 1:34am] ouranhostclub [arctic_dragon] SMASH! (Sydney Manga and Anime Show) is a convention by fans for fans. We have a really strong focus on creativity with many cosplay and artist events, but we’re also working on including writers too. As such, we’d love to have as many writers as possible enter the competition. For all who’d like to see their favourite character bizarrely transformed, some unusual romantic interests or that scene you’re sure is missing from canon… SMASH! is running a fanfiction competition for those interested in taking a bit of creative license to canon (or possibly throwing it right out the window). Entries will be judged by a panel of reputable fanfiction authors, chosen for their skills and knowledge of a broad range of fandoms. To be in on the action, have a look at the fandom list (you’re sure to know at least one of them), and pick one of our prompts to use as broadly as you like to write your fanfic. The skies the limits for what you choose to write (any scene, any pairing), but all fanfics must be rated G or PG. The word length of fics is recommended to be between 1000 to 2000 words, but this is a recommendation, not a hard limit. Unfortunately prizes will only be awarded to entrants from Australia or New Zealand, but others are welcome to enter and receive feedback from our judges. I get so indecisive sometimes. =_= I took off more than I was planning on but the longer style just wasn't working out right. Hair Color Panic? [Sunday 12.7.09 @ 1:50am] cosplay [sorakachan] Okay, guys, so...like....I'm in a slight bind. So, I recently got my very first perm (a straight perm, I actually have straight hair, holy shit), and, well, I did not know that I need to leave at least a month's worth of time between perming and coloring (whoops). So, my hair isn't quite blonde enough for Draco from Harry Potter (yeah...I have a very, very dirty blonde, almost brown. NOT gonna work). SO, I wanted to know if anyone here knows of a temporary hair dye/spray/gel/such I can use that I would be able to find at Sally's Beauty Supply that will stay in my hair without having to worry about messing my hair up further because of my perm and will withstand having a ton of gel put on top of it (Chamber of Secrets Draco).
